Edna O'Malley, Chair
 

Edna has been a member of Waringarri for over 20 years and is the Chairperson for Molly Springs Community. She is a carer for 5 DCP children, and actively works toward keeping kids with family members.

Edna has responsibilities with the ADP Implementation Committee, the Strategic Alliance Leadership Team and Community Reference Group. She is also a Director for the Kimberley Land Council, Ord Enhancement Scheme and MG Corporation Boards. 

  
Helen Gerrard, Vicechair
Business Studies (Harthills College Perth), Associate Degree Community Management (Curtin University Perth)

Helen has experience as a secretary for the Trade Union Perth and for the Central Aboriginal Congress, as an Aboriginal resource officer for the Department of Community Services and as a senior refuge worker for Gawooleng Yawoodeng Aboriginal Corporation.

She has been a committee member for the Waringarri Aboriginal Corporation, EKAMS and Gawooleng Yawoondeng Aboriginal Corporation in the past, as well as a governing committee and management committee member for MG Corporation.

Teddy Carlton, Director
Bachelor of Applied Science (Curtin University, Perth)  

Ted has participated in a number of workshops and courses including Aboriginal Health Training Needs, Alcohol & Other Drugs Working with Young People, ATSIC – Decision making, Residential Family Program, and 1990 Winter Addiction Studies School Workshop 1: Counselling the Addiction Behaviours.

He has experience in community development, in building self-esteem and motivating MG people towards self-help, and in planning, organising and leading. He is a qualified alcohol counsellor. He also has experience in education and training in social dependency areas.

Ted has consultation responsibilities to the State Government on behalf of the MG people, as well as being a representative for the MG people on the shire level.

Due to his ability and strengths in these positions he was a nominated participant in Jawun’s inaugural Emerging Leaders Tour in 2011.

  
Mr Iain Summers, Independent Director
B Comm, LLB(Hons), Grad Dip Management Psychology, FCA, FCPA, FAICD, FAIM

Iain has experience as a practising chartered accountant and as Northern Territory Auditor-General. He now provides advice and training in corporate governance.

He is a member of a number of Boards in the community services sector and chairs a number of risk and audit committees in the government and community services sector.

Ms Michelle Narustrang, Independent Director

With over 20 years’ professional experience, Michelle is a business owner, a former NED and corporate executive. Michelle possesses both generalist and specialist expertise in strategic planning and corporate functions (HR, Strategic planning and communications), with broad based cross- industry experience in both the private and public sectors.  Michelle is director of both Global People Partnership Pty Ltd (www.globalpeoplepartnership.com )  a strategic human capital consultancy and of Pivotal Point Strategic Directions which provides support in Strategy and Planning Facilitation, Stakeholder Management, Social sustainability, Organisation Design and Development, and performance realisation.
