The OFA provides for 5 percent of developed lands to be granted to MG Corp, with an option to purchase an additional 7.5 percent; this would give MG Corp 1,000 of the 8,000 hectare development.
MG Corporation is currently in negotiations with Tropical Forestry Services to establish a joint venture. The joint venture will see the establishment of MG farms to produce sandlewood and crops. It will also provide valuable opportunities for MG people to develop farming skills and business acumen.
MG Corp will undertake studies to ensure the best use is made of additional farmlands to provide further opportunities for work for MG people. Possibilities for joint ventures in agricultural and forestry projects will also be considered.
