Moonamang Joint Venture is a partnership between Leighton Contractors and Indigenous Business Australia that is in charge of delivering Phase 1 of the Ord Irrigation Expansion Project. The Ord Irrigation Expansion Project will deliver approximately 8,000 hectares of fertile agricultural land known as the Goomig Farm area, located approximately 20km north of the town of Kununurra.

In May 2010 Moonamang Joint Venture formed its Indigenous and Community Development Program (ICDP) to ensure the project was able to deliver the best possible outcomes of MG people. The team has a broader focus than just the construction project and works in conjunction with the Aboriginal Development Package (ADP) team to achieve employment, social and business outcomes in the whole community.

Throughout 2010 just over 20% of the workforce on the Ord Irrigation Expansion was MG and two MG businesses supported by the ADP undertook contracts on the project. WannaWork provided services for labour hire and fencing whilst the new MG business Gerdan Cultural Tours provided transport for workers and site tours.

MG Corporation is currently in negotiations with Moonamang Joint Venture and the State Government to establish MG Services, which will see the amalgamation of MG Corp's ADP and ICDP into one unit. MG Services will provide work readiness programs and employment support services for MG people.

As at December 2010, the MJV employed 48 Indigenous peoples on the construction of the Ord project. 35 of these were male and 13 were female staff members. MG employees comprised 18% of the workforce and indigenous staff comprised 41% of the total workforce. Additionally, 16 indigenous employees were placed in town based employment.
